Paramount And Hasbro Eyeing TRANSFORMERS 4 And 5 For Back-To-Back Shoot With Jason Statham Possibly In The Lead!
After the third entry of TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON has earned more than $1 billion at the worldwide box-office, Paramount and Hasbro are so eager to get the lucrative franchise back on track that they are planning to shoot TRANSFORMERS 4 and 5 back-to-back.
Apparently screenwriter Ehren Kruger, who wrote TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN and TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON, is reportedly has idea for both sequels. As of now, everything are still under early development. Among other reasons why TRANSFORMERS 4 and 5 are planned to shoot back-to-back is simply because of the rising costs for big-budget movies like this, as well as Hasbro's needs for an increased licensing window.
In the meantime, it is very certain that original star Shia LaBeouf won't be returning for future TRANSFORMERS installment. Jason Statham has been frequently emerged as strong favorite to replace LaBeouf, at least that is what insiders close to the production has indicated so far.
As for director Michael Bay, he has previously expressed he will not return to direct another TRANSFORMERS after helming the last three installments since 2007. However, he might changed his mind after all especially there's a source claim the director may be able to squeeze in his bodybuilding movie PAIN AND GAIN before TRANSFORMERS 4.
Paramount is targeting a late 2012 or early 2013 start for TRANSFORMERS 4, and whether the proposed two new TRANSFORMERS installments are materialized or not, remains to be seen.
